Milton Nathaniel Vaughn, Sr. was born in Forsyth County, in the city of Winston-Salem, North Carolina on January 3, 1934, to the late Ganson B. Vaughn and Doretha Johnson Vaughn.

He earned his education in the Forsyth County Schools. He retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company in December 1987.

Mr. Vaughn was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Gladys B. Vaughn; his siblings, William Vaughn, Curtis Vaughn, Solomon Vaughn, Virginia Vaughn, Doris Vaughn, Geraldine Vaughn, Majorie Johnson, Mae Alice Mackay, and Ganson B. Vaughn, Jr.

He leaves cherished memories with his children, Milton Nathaniel Vaughn, Jr. of Crowley TX, a devoted daughter, Cynthia D. Vaughn of the home, Kennard Joel of Winston-Salem, Gail Barnes (Keith) of Winston-Salem, Crystal Bryant of Charlotte N.C., and Debra Harris of Charlotte N.C; one grandson, Milton Nathaniel Vaughn, III; one sister, Jacqueline Vaughn of Kernersville N.C; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and special caregivers, Bonita Napper, Robert Jordan, Gina Williams were true angels  to Mr. Vaughn; and special nieces, Robin Vaughn, Vickie Martin and Kim Benson-Myers.

A viewing will be held from 1:00pm until 5:00pm Wednesday, September 3, 2025 at Russell Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held 1:00pm Thursday, September 4, 2025 in Piedmont Memorial Gardens.
