Obituary

Mildred Frida Foy was born January 5, 1927 in Forsyth County to the late Elijah Frida and Eula Crockett Frida. She departed this life on Friday, February 17, 2012.

Mrs. Foy was educated in the public schools of Winston-Salem and graduated from Atkins High School. She furthered her education in NYC where she obtained her degree in education from City College. She retired from the NYC Board of Education where she was a member of various clubs and the Teachers Union.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie P. Foy.

She leaves to cherish many dear memories two sons, William Foy of New York City, NY and Darrell Foy (Patricia) of W-S, NC; four grandchildren, William Barber of NYC, NY, Darrell N. Foy, Rhashad Foy (Sherika), and Monique Foy of W-S, NC; six great-grandchildren; her first cousin, Queen Cooper of W-S, NC; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and the entire Austin Family.
She will be greatly missed by her many faithful friends and co-workers from New York who always stayed in touch and brought a special smile to her face.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30am Saturday, February 25, 2012 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Donald Stowe, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 11am until 11:30am Saturday at the funeral home.
The family wishes to extend special thanks to Monique Smith, her devoted nurse and caretaker.
