Mrs. Mildred Louise Forrest Allen was born March 16, 1921 and departed this earthly life on Friday, August 29, 2008 at Forsyth Medical center. She graduated from the old Carver School in Winston-Salem, NC and attended Red Bank Baptist Church. She was married to a former pastor of Red Bank Baptist Church, the Rev. John Edward Allen, who preceded her in death.

Surviving Mildred Allen are seven children, Floyd Edward Forrest (Glenda), Hal Louis Forrest, Barbara Geraldine Ellerbe, Melinee Sue Allen (Alphonso), Berkeley Ward Allen and Equilla Louise Allen all of Winston-Salem, NC and John Bernard Allen of Seattle Washington; 16 grandchildren, 31 great, grandchildren, six great, great grandchildren, two nephews, one great niece, two devoted neighbors, Gary Allan and Roosevelt Harriston, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1 pm Saturday, September 6, 2008 at Red Bank Baptist Church, 6405 Red Bank Rd., Germanton, NC with the Rev. James Clyburn as eulogist. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Family visitation will be held from 12 Noon until 1 pm Saturday at the church.
