Michael Leroy Cooper was called home on September 11, 2018 at his home in Greensboro, NC.  He was born December 13, 1957 in Ahoskie, NC to the late Priscilla Cooper and Lewis Fennell. Soon after completing high school, Mike enlisted in the United States Army and served as a military policeman. He served his last tour in Germany, where he decided to live and start a family. Mike returned to the U.S. and worked for the United States Postal Service until forced to retire due to disability.

He enjoyed listening to music, watching movies, and spending quality time with friends. He has been described as a good man with a big heart.

Mike is survived by and will forever be in the hearts of his daughter, Sabrina Cooper-Roder; granddaughters, Celine, Ronja, and Leona; brothers, Christopher (Leah) and Martin (Keisha); five nephews, a niece, cousins, and a host of extended family and friends.

Memorial services will be held at 4:00pm Saturday, September 22, 2018 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel. The family visitation will be held from 3:30pm until 4:00pm on Saturday at the Chapel.
