Mrs. Melven O. Thomas, 88 of 3004 Fondly Road passed away January 8, 2010 at the Oaks Nursing Home.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry H. Thomas; and a son, James A. Thomas.
She is survived by four daughters, Juanita Herron of Charlotte, NC, Patricia T. Jacobs of Winston-Salem, NC, Lorraine Little of Walkertown, NC, and Debra (Arthur) DeLapp of Winston-Salem, NC; four sons, Bobby R. Thomas of Jacksonville, FL, Timothy (Fusako) Thomas of Las Vegas, NV, Ivory Thomas of Greensboro, NC, and Craven Thomas of the home; fifteen grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; one aunt, Sula Herron of Charlotte, NC; one sister-in-law, Ethel Herron of Winston-Salem, NC; a son-in-law, Dr. Joe Little of Winston-Salem, NC; three nieces, two nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1pm Thursday, January 14, 2010 at First Calvary Baptist Church with Dr. John Jackson officiating. Interment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens. The family visitation will be held from Noon until 1pm on Thursday at the Church.
