Melissa Creasy Shepherd went home to be with the Lord on June 26, 2019 at Wake Forest Baptist Health Medical Cancer Center.

Melissa was the eleventh child born on November 4, 1958 to Walter & Ola M. Creasy in Beckley, West Virginia.  Melissa moved to Winston-Salem, NC in 1972 where she was educated in the public schools.

Melissa was born again at a young age.  She loved the Lod and loved to work in the house of the Lord, be it singing in the choir, cooking, or any act of hospitality.  She was always a willing participant.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Waddell Shepherd; her son, Waddell "Tiger" Bitting; and 8 sisters and 1 brother.

Left to cherish her memories are her daughter, Tunisia Shepherd; three sons, Rashand Shepherd, Gregory Bitting, and Shontae Davis; grandchildren, Quay, Joc, Tunasia, and Trap; godson, Six; one sister, Edna Thompson; her favorite niece, Sharon Creasy; best friends/sisters, Patsy Beasley and Alice Pollard; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and devoted friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30am Tuesday, July 9, 2019 at Ambassadors Cathedral.  Interment will follow in Salisbury National Cemetery, Salisbury, NC.  The family visitation will be held from 11:00am until 11:30am on Tuesday at the Church.
