Mrs. Melinda Faye Mitchell-Morgan accepted her heavenly call when the angels knocked on her door September 17, 2014 in Brandywine, MD. The angels gave her wings, which enabled her to fly away from this world of sorrow and pain to spend eternity with the Lord.
Melinda was the daughter of George Louis Mitchell and Pauline Mitchell and was born October 26, 1960 in W-S, NC.
Melinda was very ambitious in her career and educational pursuits. She graduated from Parkland High School, and received her Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from WSSU. It wouldn't be long before she fell in love with her partner, Carl P. Morgan and later married June 23, 1984 in W-S, NC. From this union they relocated to Maryland where she became a caring wife and loving mother to her daughters Carlisa and Macayla.
Melinda devoted her professional life to her career in the District of Columbia government for over 25 years; she was a committed Mary Kay Consultant for 15 years, and an extraordinary Girl Scout Troop Leader, as well as an active book club member. Melinda dedicated herself to being a phenomenal mother to her children and grandchild. Whether it was being a supportive cheer mom, a full time mentor, a craft queen, a great cook, or an amazing event planner, in her girls' eyes she was truly a beautiful, remarkable, and strong woman.
She was preceded in death by her mother Pauline Miller Mitchell; and her nephew, Darryl Mitchell.
