Obituary

Mrs. Maxine Griggs Rhodie was born November 18, 1939 in Winston-Salem, NC. She went home to be with the Lord on Friday, August 7, 2009 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home.
She was a faithful member of Beulah Tabernacle Holiness Church (Holiness Church of God, Inc.) until her health declined where she served as mother of the church, Sunday school teacher, and a member of the choir.
Mrs. Rhodie was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. John H. Griggs, Sr. and Minister Dorothy Bohannon Griggs.
She leaves to cherish her memories her devoted husband, Pearle Rhodie of the home; one son, Curtis (Marsha) Griggs; two brothers, Reverend Calvester (Geraldine) Griggs and John H. Griggs, Jr.; one sister, Minister Dianne (Ardeal) Roseboro; two grandsons, Kelvin and Kellen Griggs; one granddaughter, Kimberly Griggs; one great-granddaughter, Kaniya Griggs all of Winston-Salem, NC; two special cousins, Mrs. Nancy (Joseph) Venable of Greensboro, NC and Minister Odella (Frank) Fogle of Winston-Salem, NC; two nieces, six nephews, and a host of other family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2pm Thursday, August 13, 2009 from the Beulah Tabernacle Holiness Church 1326 N. Main St. W-S, NC with Elder Floyd J. Jackson officiating. Interment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens. The family visitation will be held from 1pm until 2pm on Thursday at the Church.
The family will meet with friends at the home of her brother, Reverend Calvester Griggs following the services at 1127 Peachtree Street W-S, NC 27107.
The family also wishes to extend a special "THANK YOU" to the staff of the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home.
