With hearts full of love, we announce the passing of our beloved brother, Matthew Brown, affectionally known to many as "Nokie"; he entered eternal rest on August 20, 2025. at the age of 59 years young. Though our hearts ache, we are comforted knowing he is at peace now.

Born on September 25, 1965, Nokie's love had no boundaries. Nokie will be remembered not only as a cherished son, brother, and father, but also as a soul who lived. He was the one we could count on—for comfort, for laughter, and for his unconditional love.

He leaves behind his mother, Mildred "Tiny" Brown; his brother, Patrick Brown; his sister, Darnell Howell; his children, Tiffany (Arlington) Melton, Matthew Spencer Reader, Malik, and Makel Brown; his two grandchildren; cousins, and friends who will forever carry his spirit in their hearts. Though his time with us feels far too short, his memory will continue to inspire love, strength, and unity within our family.

A celebration of his life will be held from 3:00pm until 6:00pm September 27, 2025 at Oak Hollow Lake's North Overlook Shelter #2, 1917 Eastchester Drive, High Point, NC 27265. In honoring him, we remember that love never ends—it simply changes form and lives on in every heart he touched.
