Masie Lee Clemmons passed away May 21, 2009 at 1:33pm at the Oak Forest Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born in Winston-Salem, NC on September 22, 1926 to Russie "Dude" Clemmons and Carrie "Grandma" Adams Clemmons.
She graduated from Atkins High School and later moved to New York, NY at the age of 17. Masie retired from Revlon Corporation of New Jersey and moved back to Winston-Salem, NC to live out the rest of her life.
She was a member of Wayside CME Church and belonged to the Missionary Board, Trustee Board, Stewardess Board, and the Usher Board.
She was an active and vocal member of the community and was loved by all.
Masie was preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters, Lillie Mae Butler and Ella Louise Clemmons.
Left to cherish her memories are her two sons, Vaughn Clemmons and Romaine Clemmons; two daughters, Patricia Garcia and Darlene Clemmons; a great-aunt, Rose Edwards of New York; and a host of grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1pm Wednesday, May 27, 2009 from the Hanes CME Church with Reverend Walter Funderburk officiating. Interment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens. The family visitation will be held from Noon until 1pm on Wednesday at the Church.
