Mrs. Mary Zollicoffer was born March 29, 1952, the baby of ten children, to Cleo and Jannie Mae Howie. She ascended into the heavens quietly with comfort and peace on May 23, 2013.

Mary was a 1970 graduate of West Charlotte High School and she continued her education at Central Piedmont Community College. She was a retired employee of RJ Reynolds Tobacco Co. and a dedicated member of Grace Ministries of Deliverance Church where she was a part of the hospitality committee doing what she loved to do, cooking.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles and Floyd Howie; a sister, Elizabeth Tyler; and her precious granddaughter, Destiny Debnam.

Mary leaves a legacy of love, strength, and courage as a memory of her life to her husband, Charles R. Zollicoffer; her only child, Sharon H. (Derick) Debnam; grandchildren, Derick A. Debnam, Jr. "DJ" and Nadiya A. Debnam; her sisters and brothers, Hattie Barr, Jack (Alma) Howie; Louise Howie, Shirley H. Givens, Jerry (Barbara) Howie, and Betty "FeFe" (Win)McCollie; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1pm Saturday, June 1, 2013 at Union Baptist Church with Rev. E. W. Hayes officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 12noon until 1pm on Saturday at the Church.
