Lovingly known as "Ms. B.", Mrs. Mary E. Young, 84, departed this life on December 17, 2010 at the Wake Forest University/Baptist Medical Center. Mary Young was born November 17, 1926 to Nathaniel Bolder and Maggie Anderson and she was an only child. Mary Boulder married John H. Young and they had a beautiful family together, which more than made up for her being an only child.
Mary Young was preceded in death by her mother; her husband; and her grandson, Victor D. Williams.
Blessed are those who mourn for they shall be comforted. She leaves behind to mourn her passing six daughters, Arschevia Barr, Johnnie Williams, Mary Y. Smith (Aaron), Hattie Fortune, Flora Shabazz, and Susie Scott (Bobby); one son, James N. Young; 16 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a host of other devoted family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1pm Thursday, December 23, 2010 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Vernon Brown officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 12:30pm until 1pm on Thursday at the funeral home.
