Ms. Mary Frances Woods was born January 28, 1935, in Macon, GA to the late Lena Woods Hauser. She later migrated to Winston-Salem, NC.  Ms. Woods departed this life unexpectedly on March 31, 2022, alone quietly in her home.

Mary graduated from Atkins High School. For many years she worked as a seamstress at Silver Front Drycleaners until she retired. Ms. Woods was considered the matriarch of her family. She was often known as the "Go To" person for her family. With her generous spirit and pleasant personality, she was loved by many. Her influence will forever remain in the lives of all who knew her.

Ms. Woods was a Christian of the Baptist faith. Although she was not an active member of a local church, she never missed an opportunity to be a witness of how good God had been to her for 87 years. She was preceded in death by her mother, Lena Woods Hauser; her sisters, Sandra Benson, Lucille Clark, and Lillian Draper; her aunts, Mary Solomon, Louise Knuckles, and Saludie Barney; and her son, Michael Terry Woods, Sr.

Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her five grandchildren, Japreis Evans, Demetrion Burns, Asteria Burns, Michael Woods, Jr., and Devon Burns all of Winston-Salem, NC; ten great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; one loyal and devoted great-great niece-"granddaughter", Mickia Byrd of Winston-Salem, NC; one special great-great-great niece-"granddaughter", Emani Coker of Winston-Salem, NC; one special niece, Belinda Carter of Winston-Salem, NC; one special great-niece, Sharonda Martin (Tywaun) of Winston-Salem, NC; one niece-in-law, Ingrid Woods, whom she loved and adored; and a host of other nieces, nephews and friends.

A viewing will be held from 1:00pm until 5:00pm Friday, April 8, 2022 at Russell Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be held at 12noon Saturday, April 9, 2022 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Gardens of Memory, Walkertown, NC.
