Mary Guest Willis was born to the late Roosevelt and Vergie Guest in Cleveland County, NC on May 31, 1941. At 74, she made her transition to her heavenly home on Friday, June 5, 2015

She was a 1959 graduate of Cleveland High School. She attended North Carolina Central University and completed her degree in nursing at Guilford Technical Community College. After 45 years of experienced nursing, she retired from James A. Johnson Nursing Center.

She was an early faithful member of Roberts Tabernacle CME in Shelby, North Carolina and then joined Mt. Vernon Baptist Church in High Point, North Carolina. At Mt. Vernon, she was a member of the Deaconess Board, Vacation Bible School and the Missionaries.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Joe V. Willis; and her son, David C. Willis.

Surviving are those who will cherish her memory; her two children, Joel (Suzette) Willis of Kernersville, NC and Kimberly (Michael) Williams of Greensboro, NC; eight grandchildren, Christopher (Cierra) Willis of Ft. Bragg, NC, Jessica Willis of High Point, NC, Madison Williams of Greensboro, NC, Raven Willis and Emena Santiago of Greensboro, NC and Shalaythia, Corey, and Kierra Childers of High Point, NC; one sister, Martha (Harvey) Barash of Manhattan, NY; three brothers, Benjamin (Jacquelyn) Guest of Charlotte, NC, Bryant Guest of Shelby, NC and Leonard (Louise) Guest of Jacksonville, NC; four sisters-in-law, Ruby Elder, Hester Houston and Ida Mae Willis of Shelby, NC and Dorothea Bailey of Philadelphia, PA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 12noon Saturday, June 13, 2015 at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. FO Bass, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Carolina Biblical Gardens. The family visitation will be held from 11:30am until 12noon on Saturday at the Church.
