Obituary

Mary Lou Wilds, 71, transitioned from this life into Glory on Wednesday, October 17, 2012 in the late afternoon due to an extended illness.

She was born to Mr. & Mrs. Dodson of Darlington, SC on October 12, 1941 and was a life-long resident of this great city, W-S, NC.

She attended Forsyth County public schools and was a former employee of Glade Street YMCA. She retired from Budd Services where she worked as a security guard at Piedmont Plaza for the last ten years. There was not one staff member, doctor, or patient that entered in and out of that building in which her personality and infectious smile did not affect in some way or anyone else for that matter. She was very family oriented and there was nothing she wouldn't do for anyone if it was in her power to do so.

She was preceded in death by her first born son, Dario Shafonze Wilds; and her youngest daughter of the home, Tammie E. Ervin who passed away almost 2 weeks prior to her own passing.

Now she leaves to cherish precious memories one sister, Mildred Heath (Kenneth) of W-S, NC; her oldest daughter, Diane Miller of W-S, NC; her youngest son, Cornelius Wilds, Jr. of Santa Cruz, CA; ten grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; son-in-law, Allen Ervin of W-S, NC; a very devoted and caring friend, Vernelle Springs; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

Homegoing services will be held at 2pm Thursday, October 25, 2012 at Dreamland Park Missionary Baptist Church, 2340 Dunbar St. W-S, NC 27105 with Rev. Ronald C. Fisher officiating. Her remains will be laid to rest in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 1pm until 2pm on Thursday at the Church.
