Mrs. Mary Rachel Sprinkle Sheff, 82, was called home on March 6, 2017 after an extended illness. She was born November 5, 1934 and was the daughter of the late Clifton Leo Sprinkle and Carrie Elzo Conrad Sprinkle.

Rachel graduated from Carver High School in 1954 and she attended Winston-Salem Teacher's College. She was a lifelong member of Center Grove A.M.E Zion Church in Tobaccoville, NC.
Rachel retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company after 25 years of service.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Rudolph Sheff.

She is survived by her four children, Ronnie Sheff, Bonnie Booker, Robin Sheff and Lisa Michelle Sheff; seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Alice Sprinkle Edwards of Wilson, NC, a nephew, two nieces and host of family and friends.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00pm Saturday, March 11, 2017 Center Grove A.M.E. Zion Church, Tobaccoville, NC. Interment will be in the Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00pm until 2:00pm on Saturday at the Church.

In lieu of flowers the family has asked that donations be made to the Center Grove A.M.E Zion Church Building Fund.
