Mrs. Mary Katherine Robinson answered the Lord's call to live with Him in Paradise at Trellis Supportive Care in Winston-Salem, North Carolina on Friday, September 2, 2022, following a period of illness. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Robinson; a daughter, Cynthia Robinson; and a son, Roland Vanlandingham.

She was born to the late Josephine Vanlandingham and the late Fleacher Gaines in Winston-Salem, North Carolina on September 27, 1934.

She attended the public schools of Winston-Salem/Forsyth County. She graduated from Atkins High School.

Mrs. Robinson was an employee of the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County School System. She worked in Child Nutrition at Hanes and Lowrance Schools for many years. She retired after more than 25 years of dedicated service to the schools and students of Winston-Salem and Forsyth County.

She was a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church and a faithful member of the Deborah Missionary Group. Her active participation subsequently ended due to her declining health.

Survivors include her five children, Sandra Robinson, Terry Robinson, Michael Robinson, Charles Robinson and Elmer Robinson; twenty-one grandchildren, including a devoted grandson, Ahmad Robinson; several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; several extended family members and friends.

A viewing will be held from 1:00pm until 5:00pm Friday, September 9, 2022 at Russell Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 12noon Saturday, September 10, 2022 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Serenus T. Churn, Sr. officiating. The family visitation will be held from 11:30am until 12noon on Saturday at the Church.  Interment will be held at 10:00am Monday, September 12, 2022 in Parklawn Memorial Gardens.
