Obituary

Minister Mary Lois Williams Reynolds, 72, affectionately known as "Mary Lois, Mother Reynolds, and Sister Pentecost," departed from this life and went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 28, 2010 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home after a brief illness. She was born on January 10, 1938 in Seneca, SC to John and Emma Wright Williams, and accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at the age of 16. Mary graduated from the Atkins High School in 1956. She became a member of St. Andrews United Church where she was a member of the choir, and other auxiliaries. In 1960, she graduated from Winston-Salem Teachers College with a bachelor's degree in education. Mary Reynolds continued her education at A&T State University, where she received her Master's of Education degree in 1974. In 1983, she accepted the call to the ministry and was ordained. She became a member of St. Peter's Church and World Outreach Center in 1989, and remained a faithful leader in the ministry until her death. Mary retired from the WSFC School system in 1999 after 38 years of service.

She leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 53 years, Francis Logan Reynolds, Sr.; a son, Francis Logan Reynolds, Jr. of the home; a nephew whom she raised, Cedric (Sophia) Williams of High Point, NC; brothers, Johnny Mack (Shirley) Williams of Winston-Salem, NC and David Tripplett of Altel, GA; a brother-in-law, Leroy (Rose) Reynolds; two sisters-in-law, Gladys Reynolds and Nancy (Ulysses) Hunter all of Winston-Salem, NC; grandchildren, Whitney Murray of Gastonia, NC, Cameron Reynolds of Hanford, CA, Nicole Reynolds and Christopher Reynolds of Winston-Salem, NC; a very special cousin, Jackie Haywood of Del Ray, Fl; a devoted goddaughter, Melinda (James) Hash; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Homegoing services will be held at 3pm Sunday, March 7, 2010 at St. Peter's Church and World Outreach Center, 3683 Old Lexington Road Winston-Salem, NC with Bishop J.C. Hash, Sr., officiating. The family visitation will be held from 2pm until 3pm on Sunday at the Church. Interment will be held at 11am Monday, March 8, 2010 in Piedmont Memorial Gardens.
