Obituary
Mrs. Mary G. Purvis, 87, passed away on Wednesday, June 3, 2009.
She was preceded in death by her son, Willie Darby.
She leaves to cherish her memory; two daughters, Patricia (Richard) Attucks and Loretta Purvis; two sons, Rev. William (Karen) Purvis, Sr. and Thurman (Pallas) Purvis; one daughter-in-law, Cora Darby; 13 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren; a dedicated friend, Willie Mae Gaddy; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 AM Saturday, June 6, 2009 from Greater St. Matthews Baptist Church with Rev. William Purvis, Sr. officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until 11:30 AM on Saturday at the church.
The family would like to extend thanks to the Bryan Center staff for the care of their mother.
