Mary Parks' Obituary
Ms. Mary Lee Pittman Parks, 86, departed peacefully on Wednesday, July 9, 2014 in Spartanburg, SC. She was a resident of W-S, NC until her health declined.
Many people knew "Miss Mary" from her work at WFU, the Hyatt Hotel, and Howard Johnsons. She was also known for her foot long hotdogs in the Happy Hill Gardens community.
She is survived by four daughters, Rose Hinson, Rose West, Kathy Woodard (Michael), and Myrtle Hairston of the city; two sons, Robert Lovelle Parks of Charlotte, NC and Rev. Joseph B. Parks (Evelyn); an aunt, Evelyn Andrews of High Point, NC; 26 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Homegoing services will be held at 2pm Sunday, July 13, 2014 at First Waughtown Baptist Church with Rev. Dennis Bishop officiating. The family visitation will be held from 1:30pm until 2pm on Sunday at the Church. Burial will be held at 10am Monday, July 14, 2014 in Piedmont Memorial Gardens.
