Mary Elizabeth Morrison was born on October 24, 1959 in Winston-Salem, NC to the late Geraldine Morrison. She went on peacefully to be with the Lord on April 3, 2019 from flu complications. Mary attended the Skyline School as a child, until she left to attend Alexander Children's home where she graduated high school.

She returned to Winston-Salem where she attended Forsyth Tech and graduated with a degree in Business Administration (Marketing).

Mary had a passion for cooking. She worked at Morrison's Cafeteria and K&W Cafeteria for many years.  She also had a passion for people, she never met a stranger. Her interactions with others were genuine and caused people to love her.  She also worked for Rhino Sports and Entertainment for about 6 years in customer service. Her last known job was with Goodwill.

Mary worked at various food banks in the city of Winston-Salem and continued to give back to her community in a loving manner, sprinkled with a dose of smart wit. You would have to know her to know she meant no harm, but she meant what she said, "WHAT YOU SAW IS WHAT YOU GOT".

Mary will forever be cherished by her daughter, Jas'man Morrison of Winston-Salem; her grandchildren, Ma'Kiyah and Jayden Morrison; her favorite niece, LaTasha Campbell; her niece, Geraldine Morrison; sister, Corliss Morrison-Rice (Harold); brother, Ivory Morrison (Joyce); and a host of great-nieces and nephews and many friends.

Memorial services will be held at 12:00noon Wednesday, April 10, 2019 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel. The family visitation will be held from 11:00am until 12:00noon on Wednesday at the Chapel.
