Mrs. Mary McKinney McGriff of 1344 Calvert Drive passed away Sunday, March 6, 2016 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born March 31, 1924 to Charlie A. McKinney and Nannie M. McKinney.

She was a native of Lancaster, SC. She graduated from State High School Class of 1942. Mrs. McGriff accepted Christ into her life at an early age. She exemplified the life of a true Christian. She was a faithful member of John Wesley AME Zion for over 50 years. She was a life member of the Missionary Society; a member of the Stewardess Board and Lay Council. She was a devoted housewife and mother.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving and devoted husband of 65 years Deacon Pernell McGriff; and her eldest daughter, Mrs. Harriette M. Parker.

Those left to cherish many wonderful memories are her daughters Kathy A. McGriff and her caregiver Denise McGriff; her grandchildren, Leslie Parker, Harold Parker, Renee Parker and Jeffery (Keonda) Parker; her great grandchildren, Tiandra Gillespie and DaShaun Gillespie; and three sisters-in-laws, Mrs. Virginia (Ira) McCullough, Ms. Alicia Barksdale and Mrs. Betty (Ken) MaGee.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at John Wesley AME Zion Church with Dr. Gloria L. Thomas officiating. Interment will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens. The family visitation will be held from 12:00noon until 1:00pm on Wednesday at the Church.
