Mary Elizabeth McCall, 68, of Winston-Salem, NC, passed away peacefully into the Presence of The Lord on July 3, 2026. Mary was born on March 5, 1958 in Laurinburg, NC, she was the daughter and oldest child of the late Mr. Harold and Mrs. Jessie McCall.
She grew up in Winston-Salem and graduated in 1976 from East Forsyth High School and from WSSU in 1980 with a B.S. Degree in Nursing. She went on to pursue a career as a Registered Nurse at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Hospital and the Sticht Center for 42 years before retiring in 2022. She received numerous awards for her excellence in nursing, including the prestigious "Daisy Award for Extraordinary Nurses."
Sister Mary was known for her kindness, quick wit, adventurous spirit, astute business sense, compassionate and generous giving spirit, her love for children and young people, her gentleness and support of the elderly, her affinity for the annual Pentecostal Assemblies of the World Conventions and her undeniable love for the Word of God and . . . hamburgers.
She tremendously enjoyed reading, traveling around the world, watching and going to the movies, going to church and wearing her favorite color, red.
She was an active and faithful member of Ishi Pentecostal Temple from the time she was 5 years old. She was baptized in the name of Jesus on July 2, 1967, at Ishi Temple and received the Holy Ghost at the age of 10 on May 3, 1968, under the pastoral leadership of Bishop R. S. Rennick.
Sister Mary served God in an excellent manner, serving His people for many years in a dedicated fashion as an usher, youth and later adult Sunday School teacher, lead church nurse and as a member of the Trustee Board.
She traveled on World Evangelism Crusades with the International PAW as an ardent intercessor and Prayer warrior.
In addition, she was a member of the Detroit/Triad Intercessory Prayer ministry, faithful supporter of the Wednesday "Lunching On The Word" Facebook broadcast (EWCM) and a very dedicated and committed supporter and contributor to community projects and to church ministry activities at Ishi.
Throughout her walk on this earth, Sister Mary truly embodied a deeply loved woman who leaned heavily on the promises of God and proved that His grace is sufficient.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her youngest brother, Morris McCall.
