Mary H. Lindsay, affectionately known as "Mae Catherine", peacefully transitioned this life to her eternal home on Friday, November 6, 2015. She was the daughter of the late Estella and Will Howell born on March 25, 1930 in Winston-Salem, NC.

She was a former member of St. Stephens Baptist Church and was a retired presser from Bud Services. Mary possessed a deep love of life, faith, and family. She enjoyed her family, friends, cooking, and making everyone laugh.

In addition to her parents Mary was preceded in death by her loving husband, Andrew W. Lindsay, Sr.; son, Alvin Lee Lindsay; brothers, Carl Howell, Willie E. Howell, Alfred Howell, and Nathaniel Best; and her sisters, Evelyn Moon, Josie Miller, Rachel Larry and Effie Howell.

She is survived by two sons, Andrew W. (Sharon) Lindsay, Jr. of Winston-Salem, NC and Allen Wayne (Debborah) Lindsay of Belews Creek, NC; brothers, George (Virginia) Howell of Winston-Salem, NC and Richard (Jackie) Howell of Bahama, NC; seven grandchildren, Andrew J. Lindsay (Beth), Sean C. Lindsay, Kimberly Y. Lindsay, LaKesha Lindsay, Alvin D. Lindsay, Allen Lindsay, Jr., and Allana Lindsay; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Thursday, November 12, 2015 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Dr. Samuel J. Cornelius officiating. Interment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens. The family visitation will be held from 12:30pm until 1:00pm on Thursday at the Chapel.
