IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Mary Ruth
Jarrett Bohannon
November 1, 2025
Mary Bohannon, 90, was the beloved daughter of the late Andrew Jarrett Sr. and Cozy (Richmond) Jarrett. She was born on September 12, 1935, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. She was a proud graduate of Atkins High School, and a member of Union Baptist Church. Mary later united in marriage to the late Nathaniel Bohannon.
On Saturday, November 1, 2025, surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and other family members, Mary received her Heavenly Wings and peacefully transitioned from this life to her eternal home in Glory.
Her remarkable memory made her the family historian, the one everyone called when they wanted to know family stories, or treasured memories from the past. She loved reminiscing about "the good ole' days," especially her visits to the country. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family sharing stories about the goodness of Jesus and His amazing grace.
Her love will be cherished by her sons, the late Nathaniel "Andra" Bohannon and Tony Bohannon of Winston-Salem, NC; her daughters, the late Christina Bohannon and Robyn Rogers (Tyrone "T" Rogers) of Winston-Salem, NC; Goddaughter, Towanda "Noogie" Britton; her sisters, the late Cozy Ann Jarrett Gaston, Linda Jarrett, Kay Hatton, and Wanda "Della" Drummond, all of Winston-Salem; her brothers, the late James Jarrett, Andrew "Skip" Jarrett, and the late Kenneth Jarrett. She leaves behind nine grandchildren, including Antjuan Bohannon that lived with her; twenty-one great-grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren. She will be remembered by her devoted prayer partner, Florence Williams, her faithful caregiver, Crystal Adams and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends who will continue to treasure her memory.
A viewing will be held from 1:00pm until 5:00pm Sunday, November 16, 2025 at Russell Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 12:30pm Monday, November 17, 2025 at Union Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens. The family visitation will be held from 12:00pm until 12:30pm on Monday at the Church.
