Mary Haynie Goodyear, 65, went home to be with the Lord on November 25, 2010 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem, NC.
She was born on October 27, 1945 in Toc, GA to Major Perry Haynie and Lizzie Prather Haynie. She retired from RJ Reynolds Tobacco Company in 1986 and from Forsyth Medical Center in 2004.
She was a faithful member of Solid Rock Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Lizzie Mae Sherman.
She is survived by her husband, Raymond Goodyear; her son, Marvin Dean; daughter, Sherry Dean Clinton all of Winston-Salem; two step daughters, Carol Smith of Winston-Salem and Gloria Saunders of Marion, SC; sister, Ailene Reynolds (David); 2 brothers, Perry Robert Haynie and James Haynie (Mary); 6 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; 3 nephews; 2 nieces; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Thursday, December 2, 2010 at Solid Rock Missionary Baptist Church, Waymon L. Monroe Pastor; Reverend Charles Leak officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 12:00noon until 1:00pm on Thursday at the church.
