Mary "Jay" Riley Cockerham, born September 9, 1932, passed away Thursday, December 25, 2014 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. She was preceded in death by her father, Andrew Riley; mother, Cora W. Riley; two sisters, Cassie Kiser and Jacqueline McFadden; and three brothers, Henry Watkins, Andrew "AT" Riley, and Bernard Riley.

She is survived by her husband of 49 years Lee E. Cockerham; one daughter, Wanda Cockerham; three grandchildren, Myisha, Rafael and Janee Cockerham; three sisters, Iris Jackson, Clara (Roscoe) Pouncy, and Carrie (Floyd) Plymouth; one brother, George Riley; a devoted nephew, Lonnie Riley; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 12noon Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at New Light Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Samuel L. Hickerson officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 11am until 12noon on Tuesday at the Church.
