Mary Louise Cherry was born to the late Matthew Wentworth and Estelle Jacobs Frazier in Winston-Salem, North Carolina on September 24, 1946. Mary attended Atkins high school.

Mary was a great mother and grandmother, who loved Bingo! She always told the truth, rather it was for your own good or to simply make you smile! She was preceded in death by her husband, George McLeane Cherry Sr.; son, George McLean Cherry Jr.; daughter-in-law, Tiffany Jones Cherry; sister, Wanda Denise Jones; sister, Elaine M.

Jacobs; brother, Donald N. Frazier; and granddaughter, Johnea Coleman.

Those family members who survive and will forever cherish loving memories of her are her children, Rodney L. (Dianette) Jacobs, Kenya C. (Kerrmitt) Williams, Monica C. (Bryant) Thompson; step-daughter, Shannon (Lanell Moore) Robinson; 19 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

A viewing will be held from 1:00pm until 5:00pm Monday, April 24, 2023 at Russell Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 12noon Tuesday, April 25, 2023 at Mt. Calvary Holiness of God with Pastor Norman Graham officiating.  Interment will follow in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. The family visitation will be held from 11:30am until 12noon on Tuesday at the Church.
