Mrs. Mary M. Bethea passed away unexpectedly at her home on Monday, October 16, 2023 at the age of 67. Mary, affectionately known as "MayMay" and "Sister", was born November 9, 1955 in Winston-Salem, NC to Charles and Doris Morrison.

Mrs. Bethea was educated in the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County School System where she attended Carver High School. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, and spending time with loved ones. After many years of service, she retired from Hanesbrands. Inc.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Doris Morrison; brothers, Charles, Jr. (Sylvia) and Tony Morrison; and daughter, Loretta Lowe.

Mrs. Bethea is survived by her husband, Kevin Bethea; son, Dexter (Jacqueline) Lowe; daughter, Linda McKnight; five grandchildren, Andre Lowe, Quintarius and Zuri Gaines, Darian Lowe, and Nasir McKnight; sister, Irma Taylor; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Memorial services will be held at 12noon Friday, October 20, 2023 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Lemonte Bethea officiating.  The family visitation will be held from 11:30am until 12noon on Friday at the Chapel.
