Obituary
Winston-Salem, NC- Ms. Mary Lee Mumford Austin of Beeson Acres Rd. departed this life on Saturday, May 2, 2009 following an extended illness.
Ms. Austin was born in Winston-Salem, NC to Dossie and Annie Mumford. She was a member of New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church and was a retiree of Lucent Technology.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
She leaves to cherish her memories one son, Landis Kimbrough, Jr. of the home; one daughter, Lisa Kimbrough of Winston-Salem, NC; three sisters, Anne Witherspoon, Mattie (Clifton) Ingram, and Zella Marcus all of Winston-Salem, NC; two brothers, Willie Mumford of Winston-Salem, NC and Dossie Mumford of Sanford, FL; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2pm Thursday, May 7, 2009 from the New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church with Reverend Dr. Samuel J. Cornelius officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held at 7pm Wednesday, May 6, 2009 at the Church.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice and Palliative Care Center.
