Martha Mae Brown Sheff, 77, left her earthly home on Friday evening, February 4, 2011 at Hospice Palliative Care Center . She was born on September 7, 1933 in Darlington , SC to Lebell and Maude Ross. She was the wife of Richard Jarvis Sheff. Martha was a member of St. James United Methodist Church, Rural Hall , NC where she served on the choir and a member of United Methodist Women. She retired from Thomasville Furniture Company, and was well known in her community.

She is preceded in death by her mother, father, six sisters, and four brothers.

Martha is survived by five children, Norma Jean Wolfe, Brenda Kay Moore (Sam), Donald Ray Brown, Yvonne Diane Bullock (Leo) and William B. Brown, Jr.; she leaves to cherish her memory one sister, Annie Ross Beaty; 12 grandchildren, a number of great-grandchild, and great-great grandchildren; she also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, a best friend and sister-in-law, Bertha Sheff, and the St. James United Methodist Church family.

Funeral services will be held at 1 pm Thursday, February 10, 2011 at St. James United Methodist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Family visitation will be held from 12 noon until 1 pm Thursday at the church.
