Marshall James Haley was born on July 4, 1934 and departed on January 30, 2011.
He was the son of the late Estelle and Will Haley of Lauringburg, NC and was employed by the City of Winston-Salem where he retired from.
Surviving are his wife, Dorothy McCray Haley of the home; one daughter, Jeanette McCray; two sons, Charles (Catherine) Bethea and JaMarkas Barnes; a step-son, Donald (Lisa) Phillips all of Winston-Salem, NC; sister, Carnetta H. Robinson of Angier, NC; brother, Willie (Eva) Haley of Whiteville, NC; seven grandchildren, Michael J. McCray, Michelle M. Nelson, Christopher and Cynthia Bethea, Cierra B. Wooten, Jessica Gaines ,and Antonio Gaston, Jr. all of Winston-Salem, NC; seven great-grandchildren; three devoted and special friends, Robert Benjamin, Robert Graham, and Kenneth Mack; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 4pm Saturday, February 5, 2011 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel. The family visitation will be held from 3pm until 4pm on Saturday at the funeral home.
