Mr. Marquis DeLafayette "Dee" Pitts of 3221 South Main Street, Winston-Salem, NC born June 14, 1947 went on to see our Lord and Savior on January 23, 2009 at Forsyth Medical Center.

Mr. Pitts received his degree from Forsyth Technical Community College in Graphic Arts, and served in the United States Military. He also owned his own business. He was a member of Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his father/mother, Inez Pitts Estes; and grandparents, Ulyssis (Mabel) Pitts.

Mr. Pitts known as "Dee" leaves to cherish his memories his beloved wife of 34 years, Margie McDonald Pitts; four daughters, Phyllis (Charles) Smith, Tarsha (Chad) Shore, LaTricia McDonald, and Margie (Victor) McCummings; one son, Johannas "Joe' Carpenter; he also leaves one brother, Donnell (Constella) McGill; a beloved aunt, Dr. Manderline Scales; a devoted brother-in-law, William Herman (Betty) McDonald; better known as "PaPa" he will be truly missed by his grandchildren, Kenneth, Kendall, Keyon,Chrishaunta, Briana, Raven, and especially Victor, Jr., Brittany, Briana, and Joe, Jr.; his devoted friends were, William Drake "JB" (Wanda) Sanders, Jerry (Gwen) Morrison, Michael Thomas, Joy Barber, and Paul (Deborah) Patterson; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 12Noon Wednesday, January 28, 2009 from the Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church with Bishop Todd Fulton officiating. The family visitation will be held from 11:30am until 12 Noon on Wednesday at the Church.
