Marjorie Ruth Lovell Gregory entered into internal rest Friday, March 27, 2009 at the Wake Forest University/Baptist Medical Center. She was the second child born to the union of Eustace Pearl and Ruth Olga Lovell on October 17, 1942.
Marjorie attended public school in Cambridge, MA, received a BS in Biology from North Carolina Central University, and a Masters in Public Administration from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
She was employed at Wake Forest Medical Center as a research technician, with Model City Program, United Way, and a teacher in the local area.
She was active in organizations such as Crossing Over 52, Black Round Table, NAACP, and many other organizations.
Marjorie was an energetic individual who was devoted to loving her family, especially her children, and providing guidance and good upbringing practices by setting examples of herself to her children. Marjorie gave 100% of herself in anything she was involved with, such as love of God, work, family, mankind, and love of life.
She was a devoted and faithful member of St. Timothy's Episcopal Church for many years.
Along with her parents she was preceded in death by two sisters, Myrl Elaine Bethune and Robin Kristina Small.
She is survived by a loving devoted husband, Lewis P. Gregory; a special granddaughter raised in the home, T'keyah Gregory; three children, Kristin Miles (Michael), Kevin Gregory (Teresa) and Erich Gregory (LaShanda) all of Winston-Salem, NC; two brothers, Richard Lovell of Cambridge, MA and Raymond Lovell (Patricia) of Atlanta, GA; sister-in-law, Elaine Gregory of Atlanta, GA; an aunt, Katherine Walcott of Somerville, MA; two uncles, Davis Walcott of Somerville, MA and Charles Gittens of Fort Mill, MD; and a host of grandchildren, nephews, nieces, in-laws, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 3pm Saturday, April 4, 2009 from the St. Timothy's Episcopal Church. Entombment will follow in Gardens of Memory, Walkertown, NC. The family visitation will be held from 2pm until 3pm on Saturday at the Church.
