Mr. Marion Arthur Hatton, Sr., 61, was born in W-S, NC on December 22, 1950 to the late Clifton Moore Hatton and Minnie Elverta W. Hatton. Arthur departed this life on Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at his home.

Marion was educated in the W-S/Forsyth County school system and graduated from RJ Reynolds High School in 1971. He received a certificate in Auto Mechanics form Forsyth Technical Community College. Marion served in the 108-4th Battalion 3rd Brigade and the United States Army Reserve Unit. He retired from the Veteran's Administration Office located in W-S after more than 20 years of service.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by three brothers, Curtis W. Hatton, Clifton S. Hatton, and Kenneth Cowan.

He is survived by his wife, Celestine Adams Hatton; one son, Marion Arthur Hatton, Jr.; three daughters, Tamika Adams Lovelace of the home, Meredith Hatton and Latasha McCray all of W-S, NC; his mother-in-law, Franscena Adams of W-S, NC; four sisters, Carolyn Coleman of W-S, NC, Helen Williams (Wendell) of Baltimore, MD, Lola Williams of Brooklyn, NY, and Gwendolyn Henderson of Fayetteville, NC; three sisters-in-law, Thelma W. Hatton, Michelle Smith, and Mary Helen Cowan of W-S, NC; five brothers-in-law, Michael Adams, Christopher Adams (Patrice), James Adams, and Antoine Adams all of W-S, NC and Anthony Foust (Pam) of Knightdale, NC; 13 grandchildren; four aunts, Eberlene Taylor of Estill, SC, Essie Mae Bryant and Margaret Kirkland of W-S, NC and Annie Bush of Columbia, SC; two uncles, James Wilks of W-S, NC and Alvin Wilks of Baltimore, MD; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Memorial services will be held at 3:30pm Saturday, February 4, 2012 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel. The family visitation will be held from 3pm until 3:30pm on Saturday at the funeral home.
