Sunday, April 24th, 2022, a beautiful sundown evening, Marion Allen Jones quietly transitioned from his home to his heavenly home. Marion was born to the late Willie Mae Jones Witherspoon and Allen Odell Jordan, February 21, 1948.
Marion attended the Winston-Salem Forsyth County Schools and was a graduate of Atkins High School. He was a former employee of R. J. Reynolds Tobacco Company. After leaving R. J. Reynolds, Marion found his real niche in life; painting. Painter as he was affectionately known, never disappointed the many people that he had an opportunity to service in painting their desired needs. Painting was something he was always proud of as he took his time and painted with such care and detail. Marion continued painting as he sought out the fight of his life against the cancer that attacked his body; he continued painting until a few weeks ago when his health took a drastic turn. He lived his life by his own beat, on his own terms and never let anyone define who he knew he was as a person.
Preceding him in death were his parents; two brothers, Donald Jordan and Robert (Donna) Jordan; and four sisters, Classie Mae Jordan, Clementine Jordan, Brenda Jordan, and Shirley McCoy.
Marion leaves to cherish his memories: his loving wife of 47 years Mary Jones; a devoted and loving daughter, Shakerra (Arthur Wright) Jones; one grandson, Ben-Arthur Wright; six brothers, Charles (Bette) Jordan (Stratford, Connecticut), Larry Murrell (Winston-Salem, NC), James "Stan" Howie (Columbus, OH), Allen "Ray" (Rose) Jordan (Columbus, OH), Horace "Ted" (Pamela) Jordan (Columbus, OH), and Larry Jones (Winston-Salem, NC); six sisters, Claudette (Wilbur) McIntyre (Fort Worth, TX), Phyllis (Grady) Jackson (Winston-Salem, NC), Linda Bowman (Winston-Salem, NC), Patricia Johnson (Winston-Salem, NC), JoAnne W. Patrick (Charlotte, NC) and Thessalonia "Tiny" (Wilson Ford) Steward (Columbus, OH); three aunts, Ernestine J. Simington, Mildred J. Price, and Gwen J. (Reginald Belton) Brown, all of Winston-Salem, NC; three uncles, Charlie (Gladys) Jones, James (Ramona) Jones, and Melvin (Sharon) Jones all of Winston-Salem, NC; a devoted and loving brother-in-law, Teddy (Pateah) East; a devoted and loving nephew, Patrick Glenn; devoted and loving nieces, Tam (Peter) Davis (Chesterfield, VA), Tonya (Brian) Worthy (China Grove, NC), Kim (Peter) Kindred (Fort Worth, TX), and Sparklyn Jackson (Charlotte, NC); devoted and loving friends, Michael Scott, Robert Brim, Greg Cain, Allen Speas, and Nathaniel Holiday; along with a host of other beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
