Marion Irene Correll Wofford, of Winston-Salem, NC, entered her eternal rest and passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 2, 2021. She was born on June 8, 1942 to Vance and Beatrice Correll.  She was one of 16 children and was raised in a loving Christian home in the Piney Grove Community.  She loved her family, the church, and all who were blessed to come into her presence.

She was a 1961 graduate of Carver High School.  She was a graduate of The LaMae Beauty College with a degree in Cosmetology and attended Winston-Salem State University.  Marion retired from both AT&T and the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County School System. She was the owner and operator of Marion's Beauty Salon. On August 13, 1960, she married her high school sweetheart, Bobby T. Wofford. Their union of 61 years produced four daughters, Darsell, Alethea, Karen, and LaShawnda. Affectionately known as "Grandma", she was a proud grandmother and adored her four grandsons, Bryson, Austin, DJ, and Cameron.

She was a long time and devoted member of Carver Road Church of Christ. She thoroughly enjoyed learning the bible, attending Bible Study, singing with the chorale ensemble, and serving on the bereavement committee.  She loved the Lord and her faith was strong.  She fought a good fight, finished her course, and kept the faith. Now, she has received her crown of righteousness from the Lord Himself.

Marion was an entrepreneur, educator, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and very dedicated to all of her family.  She was a "social butterfly" and enjoyed meeting people and social gatherings.  She never met a stranger and with her magnetic personality made friends easily everywhere she went. She was regarded by many as a very kind and sweet person. She enjoyed cooking, loved to golf, playing pinochle with her friends, traveling with her family, and fellowship activities with her high school alumni association.  She was a member of the Pacesetters traveling club and the Winston-Lake Ladies Golf Club.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Vance C. Correll and Beatrice M. Correll; her brothers, Vance, William, Bobby, Kennard, Dwight, and Edward Correll; and sisters, Margaret Branson, Vandelia Green, and Ruby Charles.

Marion leaves to cherish her precious memories her husband of 61 years, Bobby Wofford; four daughters, Darsell Hargrave (Derwin) and Alethea McCullough of Winston-Salem, NC, Karen Churn (Rev. Serenus) of Roanoke, VA, and LaShawnda Bufford (Anthony) of Charlotte NC; four grandsons, Mark McCullough, Austin McCullough and DJ Hargrave all of Winston-Salem, NC and Cameron Gates of Charlotte NC; brother, Johnny Correll; sisters, Thressa Witherspoon, Alice Hawkins, Mary Williams, Veronica Black (Isiah), and Sylvia Martin (Lorenzo) all of Winston-Salem, NC; two Godsons, McArthur Newell, Jr. of Northern Virginia and Michael Newell of Raleigh, NC; eight sisters-in-law; nine brothers-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.

A viewing will be held from 1:00pm until 5:00pm on Monday, November 8, 2021 at Russell Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00noon Tuesday, November 9, 2021 at Carver Road Church of Christ with Dr. Jefferson R. Caruthers, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 11:00am until 12:00noon on Tuesday at the Church.
