Obituary
Ms. Marilyn Eugenia Butler, affectionately known as "Sissy", passed away Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at Forsyth Medical Center.
She was born in Waterbury, CT on November 24, 1948 to the late Ozzie Butler and Christine Frances Petty Butler.
She was a member of Zion Baptist Church in Waterbury, CT, a graduate of Mattatuck Community College in Waterbury, CT, and was a former employee of Alamance Regional Hospital in Burlington, NC.
Survivors include brothers, Norman O. Butler (Carolyn) of Kernersville, NC and Gerald A. Butler (Sonya) of Myrtle Beach, SC; two uncles, John Petty (Marie) of Woodbury, CT and Robert Elliott of Waterbury, CT; an aunt, Ruth Petty of Waterbury, CT; two nephews, Gerald Butler, Jr. and Derrick Butler; sister-in-law, Lucretia Butler; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11am Saturday, January 7, 2012 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 10:30am until 11am on Saturday at the funeral home.
The family would like to thank the staff at Grace Health Care and Forsyth Medical Center for their care of Marilyn.
