Mrs. Marie Ervin Mitchell "Ms. Marie", 107 years young, of Rural Hall, NC, made a peaceful transition to glory on Oct. 29, 2013 from The Kate Bitting Reynolds Hospice Home.
She was born April 2, 1906 in York County, SC to the late George Butler and Emma Ervin.
She was united in marriage to Herbert Mitchell, which produced 5 children: "Hoover", "Bunny", "Becky", "Bobby" and "A.C." Mitchell.
She leaves to cherish her memories sons, Daniel "Bunny" and Robert "Bobby" (Margaret); sister Evangelist Mary Ervin Abbott; brothers Joseph (Anna) Ervin, and Jakay (Minnie) Ervin all of Winston-Salem; devoted granddaughter, Sharon Mitchell Myers, whom she raised; grandchildren, Princella Thomas, Quriston (Cedric) Archie, and Shannon Mitchell of Winston-Salem; 14 great grand; 13 great-great grand; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
An Inspirational Celebration will be held at 1pm Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at the St. James United Methodist Church on Hwy. 65 Rural Hall, NC 27045 with Rev. Paul Perkins, Sr. officiating. Interment will follow in Crestview Memorial Park. The family visitation will be from 12:00noon until 1:00pm on Tuesday at the Church.
