On the morning of January 9, 2010, an angel came down and said my child come with me. Mrs. Marie Knox, 103 years old, better known as "Momee" was born March 26, 1906 in Timmonsville, SC to Doc and Jane Jackson. She departed this life at Springwood Care Center. She was a faithful member of Grace Presbyterian Church where she was active in Sunday school and the Presbyterian Women.
Her husband, Garland H. Knox, two daughters, Ernestine Mills and Elizabeth Blackwell; one grandson; one great-granddaughter; and all of her siblings preceded her in death.
She is survived by two granddaughters, Brenda Granderson of Winston-Salem, NC and Blanche Payne of Atlanta, GA; six great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2pm Thursday, January 14, 2010 at Grace Presbyterian Church with Dr. Samuel Stevenson officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 1pm until 2pm on Thursday at the Church.
The family would like to thank the staff of Springwood Care Center on Station 3 for all the love and care given to Mrs. Knox.
