Marguerita Bowman was born on April 16, 1957 to the late Willie L. Bowman, Sr. and Hattie B. Sutton Bowman of Winston-Salem, NC. She was the youngest girl of nine children from Hattie and Willie. At a very early age, Marguerita accepted Christ in her life and was baptized in Jesus name. She was a former member of St. Peter's Apostolic Church under Bishop RK and Mother Hash. In 1988, she became a member of Genesis Victory Outreach Center under the leadership of Bishop Claude D. Thomas where she served as a member of the choir.
Marguerita graduated from North Forsyth High School in 1976. She worked at Hanes and Maxway for many years. She also worked for the WSFCS System in the cafeteria for over 10 years where she met many kids who she would build relationships with, loved, and made an impact on students' lives. She will always be someone they will remember. Marguerita was a very caring and loving person and found joy in cooking and feeding everyone. Marguerita cooked every Sunday and hosted dinner at her house for friends and family. She was a friend to everybody with a very pleasant spirit. Everybody loved her, you were always welcomed at her house. To know her was to love her.
In addition to her parents, Marguerita was preceded in death by her eldest sister, Barbara Sutton; and her eldest brother, Willie L. Bowman, Jr. all formerly of Winston-Salem, NC.
She leaves to cherish her memories two daughters, Ki'a B. Davis (Richard Davis) and Kayla Bowman both of Winston-Salem, NC; grandchildren, Kyshaad, Kiara, and Kymani, Raekwon, Kylei, and Kace; a special great-niece who she was Nana to, Cierra Sutton; three sisters, Phyllis A. Sutton, Deloris C. Bowen (Horatios), and Peggy A. Sullivan (Dexter); three brothers, Turner Bowman (Sharon), Otis Bowman, and Anthon Bowman (Toni); sister-in-law, Linda J. Bowman; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, other relatives, and many special friends. To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. No more pain, she's gained her wings. Special recognition to her dear friend Robyn Gary who she spent time with every Wednesday.
