Obituary

Mrs. Margretta Smith Stover, of 5755 Springwood Care Nursing Center , departed this life peacefully on Tuesday, March 13, 2007. She was born on January 9, 1928 to Nellie Smith and Robert Smith, Sr.

She was a native and lifelong resident of Forsyth County. Mrs. Stover was educated in the public schools and was a member of United Cornerstone Baptist Church where she served as a Deaconess and a faithful member of the Missionary Youth Department Group. She was a retiree of Young Cleaners after 38 years of service and the Winston-Salem School Department.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Stover, Sr.; two sisters, Nola Mae Smith and Dorothy Benn; and two brothers, Robert Smith, Jr. and Alfred Smith.

She leaves to cherish her memories her loving daughter, Evelyn (Cornell) Gwyn; four stepchildren, JoAn Lee, Patsy Carpenter, James Stover, Jr. and Linda Salle; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 19, 2007 at 1:00 PM from the United Cornerstone Baptist Church , 2745 Patria St. , Winston-Salem, NC 27127 with Reverend Jones officiating. Interment will follow in Gardens of Memory, Walkertown , NC. The family visitation will be held from 12 NOON until 1:00 PM on Monday at the Church.
