Mrs. Margie Malvina Macon Mumford, 84, of 7014 Brandemere Lane , Apt. B passed away on Saturday, March 3, 2007 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born on July 2, 1922, the daughter of David Perkins and Louise Witherspoon Harper in Lenoir, NC. Margie joined Union Baptist Church, Winston-Salem , NC early in life. Later after moving to Philadelphia, PA she joined Zion Memorial Baptist where she was a dedicated member for over 30 years. Upon moving back to Winston-Salem, NC she joined Piney Grove Baptist Church where she enjoyed working with the Kitchen Committee.

Margie was a LPN in two hospitals in Philadelphia, PA. After retirement she worked as a private duty nurse for several years.

She was preceded in death by four sons, Lennious, Ricardo, Gregory and Leon; two brothers, Bobby R. Harper (Eva) and Luther Harper; two sisters, Dardenella Campbell and Junnell H. Lyons.

She is survived by a caring husband, Ottomer Mumford; a son, Boris Macon (Brenda); two step-daughters, Regina Mumford and Belinda Mumford; 8 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 8, 2007 at 1:00 PM from the Piney Grove Baptist Church with Reverend James Linville officiating. The family visitation will be held from 12 NOON until 1:00 PM on Thursday at the Church.
