Mrs. Margie Marie Conrad Rucker, a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, was born in Winston-Salem on September 4, 1934. She departed this earthly life on Wednesday, May 9, 2007, at the Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. She received her education from the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools. She was a faithful and active member of St. Peters Church and World Outreach Center where she sang with the Senior and Mass Choir. She served as a Pastor' s Aide to the late Bishop Hash Sr., served on the Willing Workers Auxiliary and was honored as an Honorary Deaconess. She also completed the Cell Ministry Leadership Training Classes. Mrs. Rucker was retired from Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center after 22 years of service. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. John Henry Conrad and Mrs. Georgia Glenn Conrad; two dear brothers, Mr. Chamels Gray Conrad and Mr. David Odell Conrad. She leaves to cherish her memories, a daughter, Ms. Cynthia D. Rucker; two sons, Mr. Billy F. (Debra) Rucker Jr. and Mr. Victor W. (Vickie) Rucker all of Winston-Salem; seven grandchildren; one special foster grandson, Tommy Thacker and two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ms. Clara Glenn and Mrs. Pearl (Warren) Armstrong all of Winston-Salem one brother, Mr. Roosevelt (Miyuki) Conrad of Highland, Calif.; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 15 at 1 p.m. from the St. Peters World Outreach Center with Bishop James C. Hash Sr. officiating. Interment will follow in Parklawn Memorial Park. The family visitation will be from 12:30 to 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the church.
