Margarette Taylor of 709 Woodland Ct. Winston-Salem, NC was called home to be with the Lord on Monday, October 20, 2025 at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist due to respiratory issues.  Margarette was born in Wilkesboro, NC on April 13, 1938 and was the youngest daughter of Matt Sanders Taylor and Flossie Phillips Taylor.

She received her education in the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County School System where she graduated from Atkins High School. Margarette moved to Chicago, Illinois to seek better employment opportunities where she was employed by Zenith Electronics where she retired.  Upon moving back to Winston-Salem, NC she worked for Gallins Food Service and HanesBrand.

She enjoyed search puzzles, politics, old school music, and spending time with family and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded by four brothers, Curtis, Carlos, Clarence, and Lester Taylor; four sisters, Connie, Louise, and Mary Sales of Chicago, IL, and Florita Taylor.

Margarette leaves to cherish her loving son, Barry Taylor whom she loved dearly; five nieces, Johnnie Sales and Theresa Martin both of Chicago, IL, and Cathy, Brenda, and La'Sanda Taylor all of Winston-Salem, NC; two nephews, Ron Taylor and Charles Sales of Chicago, IL; her dear caretaker whom she appreciated helping her in her time of need, Keisa Carabo; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A viewing will be held from 1:00pm until 5:00pm Friday, October 31, 2025 at Russell Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm Saturday, November 1, 2025 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 1:00pm until 2:00pm on Saturday at the Chapel.
