Margaret Elizabeth Tyson-Miller passed away peacefully at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home surrounded by family. She was born on October 10, 1946, to Edward Smith and Fannie Maple Tyson and departed this life on Sunday, February 3, 2008.
Ms. Miller graduated from Atkins High School, Class of 1965 and attended North Carolina Central University. Ms. Miller retired from C & P Telephone Company in Washington, DC. She was very outgoing, enjoyed socializing with friends and playing bid whiz. She lived a full and loving life that was shared by her family and many friends. Ms. Miller was a member of the Winston-Salem Stroke Club and First Calvary Baptist Church in Winston-Salem where she was a member of the Inspirational Choir.
Her parents, three brothers, Eddie Lee Tyson, James Ray Tyson, and James Edward Tyson preceded her in death.
Ms. Miller leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter, Kimberly A. Miller, three grandchildren; Darrell Turner, Breanna Miller, and Adrian Ladson; step-mother, Marie A. Tyson; sister, Viola "Penny" Tyson-Rice; brother, Frank Edward (Margaret) Tyson of Richmond, VA; nieces, Tammy (Christopher) Holloway, and Camaro Rice-Ray; nephew, Lynn (Paula) Rice, Jr.; and many relatives and friends. She was a life-living, fun-loving person and she will be missed.
Funeral services will be held
1 pm Thursday, February 7, 2008 at First Cavalry Baptist Church
, 401 Woodland Avenue, with the Rev. Calvin Runnels, officiating. Interment will follow in
Piedmont Memorial Gardens
