Margaret Reeder Stafford, known to many as "Granny", was born on June 15, 1930 to Mayer and Daisy Reeder. She departed her early home to her enter her heavenly home on Wednesday, August 21, 2019, She was a faithful member of Middle Fork Christian Church for over 45 years.
Mrs. Stafford was a retired employee of Belks. She also worked at B&G Pie Company, and as a seamstress for ESR. She was an expert seamstress by trade, and exercised her gift by making robes, uniforms, and attire for local churches, schools, and individuals. Granny also enjoyed caring for children which she did until the age of 85 years young.
Mrs. Stafford was preceded in death by her parents, Mayer Reeder and Daisy Sheppard Reeder; her husband, Rev. Andrew E. Stafford; her sisters, Elizabeth "Honey" Reeder Burton, Mattie Lou "Doll" Reeder Wilson, Willie Mae "Will" Reeder Nelson, Benzina "Ben" Reeder Rorie, Angelina "Bae" Reeder, and Estelle Reeder Carey; her brothers, Henry Mayer "Boy" Reeder and Orlanders "Brother" Reeder; great-granddaughters, Mia Jane Webster and Belle Marie Webster; and other family members.
She leaves to cherish her memory her daughters, Myra Stafford of Winston-Salem, NC and Rev. Kara (Louis) Fleurizard of Winston-Salem, NC; three sisters, Daisy Reeder Dawkins of Washington, DC, Mayola Reeder Johnson of Plainfield, NJ, and Thomasina Reeder Robertson of Winston-Salem, NC, one brother, Nilem Reeder of Ninety-Six, SC; five grandchildren, Curtiss Stafford of Winston-Salem, NC, Christopher (Lindsey) Webster of Statesville, NC, Simone Stafford of Winston-Salem, NC, Yolande (Jay) Randall of Raleigh, NC, and Amir Fleurizard of Winston-Salem, NC; and three great-grandchildren; Aubrey Webster, Lydia Stafford, and Maxton Stafford; and a host of nieces, nephews and other family.
Funeral services will be held at 12noon Saturday, August 24, 2019 at Middle Fork Christian Church. Interment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens. The family visitation will be held from 11:00am until 12noon on Saturday at the Church.
