WINSTON-SALEM - On February 9, 2009 the Lord opened the doors of Heaven. He said "my good and faithful servant come on in." Our mother, Margaret Watts Ross, reached out and placed her hand in His. As she entered, she was greeted by her parents, John D. and Adeline Watts, and her sisters, Velma Watts Roseboro, Betty Watts Johnson, and Barbara Watts Macon.
Margaret was born on August 4, 1932 and was an active member of Morning Star Baptist Church until her illness. Her education included the public schools of Winston-Salem graduating from Atkins High School. In addition, she received her undergraduate degree from Winston-Salem State University. After many years of employment, she retired from Winston-Salem State University in 1995.
She leaves to cherish fond memories her children, the Rev. Vicki WH Clinkscales (Louie) of Lewisville, NC, Michael A. Watts, Robin W. Epps (Joe), Brian K. Watts, Stefon D. Watts, Edward A. Ross, and Robert L. Ross (Marjorie) all of Winston-Salem, NC; also, she leaves five devoted sisters, and one brother, Blondelia Tucker (Nathaniel), Annie Ruth Smith, Ernestine Watts all of Winston-Salem, NC, Jacqueline Adams (Richard) of Tuscaloosa, AL, Cynthia Timmons (David) of Lewisville, NC and John D. Watts, Jr. of Winston-Salem, NC; also, sharing fond memories are a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Homegoing services will be held at 12 Noon Saturday, February 14, 2009 at Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church, Fitch Street, Winston-Salem, NC. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Family visitation will be held from 11 am until 12 Noon Saturday at the church.
