Margaret B. Mitchell was born to Edward W. Brown and Voohrees S. Brown in Barnwell, SC on March 15, 1939. She went home to be with Lord on May 20, 2014 at Silas Creek Manor after an extended illness.
She was a lifetime member of Union Baptist Church until her health declined. She worked at Northwest Child Development Center and she loved kids, doing their hair, and saying "You look like someone all the time."
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Helen B. Ceaser; her mother-in-law, Marie Mitchell; and her brother-in-law, Douglas Wilks.
She leaves to cherish loving memories her husband of 55 years, Robert Mitchell; five daughters, Princella Thomas, Ursula Davis (Mike), Yalonda Neely, Shannon Mitchell, and Quriston Archie (Cedric); one son, David Boykins; 22 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mae Wilks, Flora Smith (Willie), and Martha Wilson (Johnny); three brothers, Edward W. Brown, Jr. (Barbara), Willie Brown (Teresa), and Charles Brown; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30am Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at Union Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Sir Walter Mack, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Salisbury National Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 11am until 11:30am on Wednesday at the Church.
