On Tuesday, May 27, 2008, Margaret Marie Crumblin Carter had an appointment with the Lord. Mrs. Carter was born March 29, 1937 to Robert and Marie Crumblin of Winston-Salem, NC.
She received her education from the public school system and was an attentive wife and homemaker.
She possessed a very warm and gentle spirit and a radiating smile.
Mrs. Carter blessed her family with a legacy of love, grace, dignity and family commitment.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Those who celebrate her life and precious memories are her husband, Robert L. Carter, Jr. of 54 years; six sons, Robert L. Carter, III. of Frankfort, KY, Michael (Sharon) Carter of Sicklerville, NJ, Warren Carter of Atlanta, GA, Stephen Carter of Greensboro, NC, John and Kenneth Carter of Winston-Salem, NC; five daughters, Roberta and Wendy Carter, Joan Carter Young, Michelle C. Johnson and Karen (Len) Parker all of Winston-Salem, NC; a "play" daughter, Vallorie (Reginald) Blaylock of Walkertown, NC; fifteen grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Barbara (Claude) McCummings; one brother, Wallace (Nellie) Crumblin all of Winston-Salem, NC; two brothers and four sisters-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Homegoing services for Mrs. Carter will be held at 10am Saturday, May 31, 2008 from the St. Benedict the Moor Catholic Church with Father Lawrence W. Heiney officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6pm until 8pm Friday, May 30, 2008 from the Russell Funeral Home Chapel.
The Carter family expressed their heart-felt appreciation to Dr. Douglas W. Stewart and staff at Nephrology Associates, the nurses and staff at Piedmont Dialysis Center, and the medical staff at Forsyth Medical Center who assisted in the care of Mrs. Carter.
